Junior High Coundelor:

About Me:

The 2020-2021 school year is my 16th year in education.  I was a junior high social studies teacher for 10 years and an elementary counselor for 5 years in San Antonio.  I have spent the last 3 years at home with my 3 year old daughter, but am excited to be back at work.  In addition to being a mom to a 3 year old, I’m a stepmom to an 18 and 19 year old.

What made you want to go into counseling?

I love working with kids.  It’s why I became a teacher, but as a teacher I realized what I really loved was being in a position to provide guidance and interact with kids on a one-on-one basis.  Even after earning my counseling degree I stayed in the classroom another 3 years because I truly loved what I was doing.  I made the leap into counseling in 2012 when the perfect opportunity came up to work alongside a coworker I used to teach with, as a counselor.  I never thought I’d enjoy anything more than teaching, but I have fallen in love with my role as a counselor.
